Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the greatest person you will ever meet.
Who is Jesus?He is GOd's Son,completely perfect yet able to identify with our weaknesses. Jesus is the most extraordinary person ever to live on earth,and God has raised Him up to the heights of heaven,where He is worthy of the highest praise that heaven and earth can deliver. Jesus came to earth to be like us so He could defeat sin,Satan,and death on our behalf. Jesus is greater than all other beings, yet He suffered for us so He could help us with our deepest needs.
Sometimes we use Jesus and God interchangeabley,and sometimes we refer to them as two distinct beings.Both are true.Jesus is equal to God in every respect. In fact,Jesus said "Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father!"(John 14:9).
The Son reflects God's own glory,and everything about him represents God exactly.He sustains the universe by the mighty power of his command.

Hypocrisy

Be more concerned with how you look to God than how you look in the mirror.
A hypocrite is a person who pretends to be different from what he or she really is. When Jesus was on earth,there were not bigger phonies than the religious leaders(scribes and Pharisees).They protrayed themselves as being holy and righeous because they followed technical rituals (that they made up themselves.)Jesus called them hypocrites because they bragged about their extreme habits of cleanliness,but internally,where is mattered,their motives ere evil and filthy. The scribes and Pharisees were concerned only with what other people saw on the outside. They failed to realize that God is interested in what is happening on the inside.
Centuries later,many of us are acting like the scribes and Pharisees.We put on a good show on the outside,but our thoughts and attitudes are not pleasing to God. We may be able to fool other people,but we can't fool God.
"you try to look like upright pople outwardly,but inside your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness".
MATTHEW 23:28

Head covering poem

I'm cleaning out some folders and found this thought its cute.. Enjoy..
Head Covering Poem
I have a head covering in public I wear.
I am the one who put it there.
I heard in my heart a voice.
It was then I made my choice.
Some asked who forced this on me.
I tell them it is no one did,
I chose it freely.
I do it in my respect to God.
But you wouldn't know the path I trod.
They may have never experienced his love.
Nor been saved by a blessing from above.
People see how I am dressed and at times they stare.
But so be it,
You know I don't care.
I gave my life to him.
The love and light in my heart shall never dim.
So let them talk and do as they will.
It is for him these things I fulfill.
For it is in my life that I shall spend
Loving my Lord until the end.
Well I better go and get the last load of lundry in.
Have a great week everyone!
~Ruth

LISTEN AND LEARN

LISTEN AND LEARN
Teachers and mentors won't find you; you have to find them.
God sends others to help you grow as a christian. First and foremost, He sends the Holy Spirit, who"leads into all truth"(John 14:17).The Holy Spirit is part of the supernatural package of your salvation,so you don't have to go looking for Him.
God also sends pople to teach you His truth and to come alongside you as your spiritual firends and mentors.These people are your pastor,your Bible study leader,the person who is discipling you,and others you will meet along your spiritual journey. God has equipped them to feed you solid spiritual food so you can grow as a Christian.
Even though God does the sending,you have to do the looking.It's up to you to find a local Bible-teaching church. You are responsible to seek out spiritural leaders.Then you need to Listen and learn.
But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true,for you know you can trust those who taught you.

I try to keep lady bugs in my garden.. Enjoy..
By: Arzeena Hamir
Of all the insects in the garden, the ladybug is probably the most easily recognized. Ladybugs, also called lady beetles or ladybirds, are a gardener's best friend. Not only do they feed on insect pests, especially aphids, but their bright coloring also brings cheer into the garden.
Attracting them into your garden requires some planning but can help immensely with your pest control. However, if you just don't have the space to plant the types of plants that ladybugs like, releasing commercially bought ladybugs can help you clean up infested plants while you work to establish your own population.
Identification
Adult lady beetles are usually oval or domed shaped, and can range in colour from red to orange. The number of black markings can also range anywhere from no spots to 15 spots. Some species are even solid black or black with a red spot (the Twice Stabbed Lady Beetle).
The young, larval form of the ladybug is often less recognized. They tend to resemble tiny, six-legged alligators, blue-black in colour with orange spots. Often, gardeners unknowingly squish or spray the larval form of the ladybug, not knowing what a benefit they are to the garden.
Both adults and larvae feed on many different soft-bodied insects but aphids are their main food source. One larva will eat about 400 aphids during its development and single adult can eat a whopping 5,000 aphids in its lifetime. In addition, they will also eat other insects such as mealybugs and spider mites as well as the eggs of the Colorado Potato Beetle and European Corn Borer
Life Cycle
Within a year, there can be as many as 5-6 generations of ladybugs as the average time from egg to adult only takes about 3-4 weeks. In the spring, adults find food and then the females lay anywhere from 50-300 eggs. The tiny eggs are yellow & oval shaped and are usually found in clusters of 10-50, near aphid colonies. The eggs take 3-5 days to hatch and the larvae voraciously feed on aphids for 2-3 weeks before they pupate into adults.
In the fall, adults hibernate in plant refuse and crevices. They often do this en masse where several hundred adults will gather at the base of a tree, along a fence row or under a rock. They especially like areas where leaves protect them from cold winter temperatures.
Attracting Ladybugs in the Garden
Apart from aphids, ladybugs also require a source of pollen for food and are attracted to specific types of plants. The most popular ones have umbrella shaped flowers such as fennel, dill, cilantro, caraway, angelica, tansy, wild carrot & yarrow. Other plants that also attract ladybugs include cosmos (especially the white ones), coreopsis, and scented geraniums, dandelions.
Apart from planting attractive plants in the garden, you can also promote ladybug populations by cutting back on spraying insecticides. Not only are ladybugs sensitive to most synthetic insecticides, but if the majority of their food source is gone, they won't lay their eggs in your garden. As difficult as it may be, allowing aphids to live on certain plants is necessary to ensure that there is enough food for ladybugs. In addition, resist the urge to squish bugs & eggs in the garden, unless you're certain that they are not beneficial.
Purchasing Ladybugs
Sometimes, there just isn't enough room in the garden to have ladybug-attracting plants or you or your neighbour may have been over diligent with the pest control. In certain circumstances, purchasing ladybugs can help to control a severe problem or help a population become established.
Scientists have found that indoor-reared ladybugs fail to find their own food when released outside so the majority of commercially available ladybugs are collected from the wild. Before releasing them into the garden, here are a few tips to help ensure that they stay where you want them:
1. Only release ladybugs after sun down or before sun-up. Ladybugs navigate by the sun and in the evenings & early mornings, they tend to stay put.
2. Pre-water the area where you are releasing them. Not only will the ladybugs appreciate the drink, free-moisture on the leaves helps the ladybugs to "stick" to plants.
3. In the warm months, it helps to chill the ladybugs in the fridge before releasing them. Ladybugs tend to crawl more than fly in colder temperatures and the overnight stay in the fridge won't harm them in anyway.
4. On severely infested plants like roses, drape a floating row cover or thin sheet over the plant and release the ladybugs underneath. Within a day, the ladybugs will have found the aphids and will be happily munching away at them.
One Note: The Asian Ladybug
If you are planning to purchase ladybugs for your garden or greenhouse, I encourage you to select the native ladybugs species, Hippodamia convergens, rather than the Asian ladybug, Harmonia axyridis. Although the latter is very effective at controlling aphids and is often the species of choice for commercial greenhouse growers, it is the main cause for "ladybug infestations" inside houses.
While the native ladybug is happy to hibernate outdoors, the Asian species requires warmer temperatures and often ends up becoming a pest to homeowners as it congregates in large numbers inside. In addition, it seems to be establishing fairly large numbers in the wild and there is some concern it will begin competing with the native species. Some suppliers of predatory insects do sell both species and it's best to choose the native one if you can

LIFE IS A MARATHON
It's better to see the circumstances of your life in the long run than the short-term.
When stuff you don't like happens outside your control,you shouldn't blame God, or worse,assume that He can't do anything about it. God is always aware of what is happening to you,and he is never powerless to help you.
So why do bad things happen to you?Honestly----and this isn't a weak approach---there are times when you just don't know. Other times,especially when the bad things are the consequences of your own sins, you know exactly why stuff is happening.Either way you need to believe that the end results will be for your own good if (and this is a big "if")you love God and submit to Him in all areas of your life.
Remember that life is a marathon, not a sprint.The pain you are feeling today is just part of the overall race,and the prize is guaranteed if you cross the finish line.
God blesses the people who patienly endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Security~Devotion for today

Security
No amount of money can match the value of God's love or the price that was paid for your salvation.
Many people look to their own financial resources for their security. They believe they have to take care of themselves, so they devote all of their efforts to earning and saving money. At some point, however ,reliance solely on finances can be misplaced and out of proportion.How should you maintain the proper balance?
Here's a simple test to determine whether or not your are depending on God or on money for your security:"wherever your treasure is, there your hear and thoughts will also be "(Luke 12:43).If your treasure is, money , you will be plagued with anxieties about losing it every time the NASDAQ takes a tumble. On the other hand, if your real treasure is your relationship with God, the focus of your life will be on Him.
Put your treasure in the Kingdom of God,which will last forever (and pays great dividends).
"Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God."
LUKE 12:21

How time has changed I wonder what the price of ice was back then.. Guess I have to do alittle research..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the period before refrigerators were available households kept perishables cool by using an ice box. Usually a wooden box that was lined with zinc and other insulating materials the ice box was the smaller, less efficient, ancestor of our refrigerator.
Ice for the ice box was supplied by the iceman who delivered it through neighborhoods during the 19th and early 20th century on a wagon and then truck ice chunk. The family would buy a big chunk of ice that would fit into what is now the freezer. Many times chunks of ice would be chipped of to cool drinks or for making ice cream. The big ice chunk would last about a week and in most cases the melted ice was collected at the bottom of the icebox in a drip pan.
The items you wanted really cold such as milk or butter you would put up next to the ice. in what has evolved to be the freezer compartment.
Browsing through issues of Reminisce magazine you often come upon many contributors who have fond remembrances of the iceman handing out slivers of ice to the neighborhood children who came running when they spotted him.
You may still find some people that refer to the every day refrigerator as the ice box. My grandmother just calls it “the box”.
You can find revamped ice boxes today in homes where people have turned them into snazzy cupboards holding everything from kitchen staples to electronics.
“The icebox should be placed where it will not get the heat from the kitchen range. The best arrangement is to place it near the outer wall and have a side door cut to permit the iceman to place the ice in the ice chamber from the outside, thus saving the floor from his dirty wet footsteps. If this outer door is provided with a chain to hold it partly open during the winter months, the ice bill for this period will be nil, and in a short time the saving in ice will pay for the extra expense of the door. The most sanitary way of draining the icebox is to have it connected by a pipe with a small sink in the cellar. This sink should drain into the sewer. To drain the pipe direct from icebox to sewer will result in sewer gas rising and filling the icebox and poisoning the food. “
Clothing Prices to Rise 10% Starting in Spring
Everything keeps going up and up..Sisterbrenda
Seems like everything is going up why not clothing... I don't like it but what can We do? make our own clothing still fabric goes up??? I sew all my own dresses so that will help in that department...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Associated Press | February 14, 2011 | 07:17 AM EST
The era of falling clothing prices is ending. Clothing prices have dropped for a decade as tame inflation and cheap overseas labor helped hold down costs.
Retailers and clothing makers cut frills and experimented with fabric blends to cut prices during the recession. But as the world economy recovers and demand for goods rises, a surge in labor and raw materials costs is squeezing retailers and manufacturers who have run out of ways to pare costs.
Cotton has more than doubled in price over the past year, hitting all-time highs. The price of other synthetic fabrics has jumped roughly 50 percent as demand for alternatives and blends has risen.
Clothing prices are expected to rise about 10 percent in coming months, with the biggest increases coming in the second half of the year, said Burt Flickinger III president of Strategic Resource Group.
Brooks Brothers' wrinkle-free men's dress shirts now cost $88, up from $79.50. Levi Strauss & Co., Wrangler jeans maker VF Corp., J.C. Penney Co., Nike and designer shoe seller Steve Madden also plan increases.
